Core Distress: Adaptation Issues to College Life
Problem Description: When I first entered college, I thought I would be free after finishing high school, but it turns out college is like an abyss! During classes, teachers always explain simple knowledge in a complicated way, making it confusing to understand. In high school, I was quite introverted—I didn’t like to speak up or ask questions, but my grades were still good and I had many friends. However, after entering college, my interpersonal relationships have deteriorated: classmates don't like to hang out with me, and no matter how hard I try to think of various ways to connect with them, they still ignore me. My grades in college have also gradually declined, and I am often criticized by teachers. Oh my god! What should I do? This is really terrible, so terrible!
